I know that one of the exercises that really surprised me with weight/size loss that I found I could do when I was heavier was yoga. Not crazy gung-ho Madonna type yoga, but follow the dorky VHS tape at home type yoga. It seemed to really make a difference for me and didn't hurt my joints. There is also swimming (though if you're "fluffy" you no doubt do NOT want to climb into a swimsuit and a pool). I also enjoy rowing which is a little less high impact. It will get easier. I promise. And as it gets easier, you will feel better, thus making it easier again...and on and on.
