this week was disheartening to say the least. i tried so hard to eat better and exercise more, but gained weight :( my period is right around the corner, so maybe thats a contributor.

Keep going. You are on average burning 500 cals a day more than what you are consuming. You are loosing approx. 0,5kg a week in fat. Not sure what caused this week's gain. But it is most certainly not fat.👍

you do tend to get bloated when you around your period... the exact same is happening to me, so Im just trying to limit my carb intake, and add more resistance training because you burn more calories if you have Abit more lean muscle... don't be discouraged all takes time 😊
