Welcome. It definitely helps to log all your food. The app is very easy to use. I find it helpful to know the percentage of carbs, fats and protein. It helps me to make better choices. Give it a chance. You can do it.

Welcome. This FS is great. The best way to start out is to log in everything, I mean everything you eat or drink (no matter how much it hurts lol). Then you have a foundation to work on and see where you could have done without or changed to a healthier choice.

Welcome, this is a really great place. You can get as little or as much feedback and support as you need when you need it. And I agree the first step is to log, without judgement, every single thing you eat and every bit of exercise you get for like a week or two. Don't beat yourself up or be unkind, just figure out where you are. It's a great eye opener!

Welcome!! This is a wonderful community. I agree with comments below. Write every calorie down. Don't be shy! No one is judging and I don't think people snoop in others' journals anyway. I like your sticks of butter metaphor (or maybe its more realistic than a metaphor!) - I think of it that way too. :-) -CC

You can allow people to see - or not. It is in the settings somewhere.... I don't remember exactly where right now.
