Yep! Really easy to do, although it would be tough to find space to strain it if I didn't have a second fridge. Cheaper and better (in our opinion) than store bought

We buy restaurant sized coffee filters. They come in packs of like a thousand, but they work fine in our 12-cup coffee maker as well, and it's not like they go bad 😉

Thanks, erikahollister! I was thinking of it just as really, really thick Greek yogurt. Still, we've been spreading the stuff on toast for a while. It's pretty thick even if I just drain it 8-10 hours

I love it on crackers with everything bagel seasoning. Also mixed to make dips. It’s one of my staple ways to increase protein.

Mama-san, there are a lot of YouTube tutorials on how to make it. I watched 2 or 3 videos. A Google search for crockpot yogurt brings up recipes as well. I've made it with whole, 1%, and soy milks before, and all worked. I haven't tried other nondairy milks yet. I didn't buy any special starter-- just began with some plain Fage yogurt and I've kept the culture going for months

And to turn it into Greek yogurt or yogurt cheese, you just strain it. You can use the whey that drains off in soups or bread or smoothies, or just straight up drink it. Not everyone likes the taste, but I do
