Good grief!! I see no trail.  

If I hike this trail again, I'm taking poles.  

My goodness, what altitude do you live at? 

Wow’s, that’s some terrain. 😮‍💨 

I live at 6,000 feet, but we drove up to the mountains. The trailhead was at about 10,750 feet, and we got just over 11,000 feet at the highest point of the hike. A lot of the trails up there have stretches of talus you have to negotiate. I'm used to hiking at 8,000 feet, but 11,000 is a different experience  

Morticia, the "trail" through this stretch was sort of where they had filled in a little with smaller rocks among the bigger ones 

MattRide, I'll take that 5 mile bonus 😂 FoodyDuty -- it was some difficult terrain, but beautiful views of the lakes and mountains 😊 

Yeah, 11,000 is tough. I can ski at 12,000, but have to watch it the first day or so. I’ll bet the views were amazing.  

Ugh. I would twist my left ankle on that terrain. I tip my hat to you for even attempting to cross it. 🏆 

JB - I was wearing extremely heavy leather boots with good ankle support. Yeah, this has ankle-twister written all over it. Katsolo - the views were incredible. :) 

That is horrible to call that a trail. Someone could get injured!

Just the way it is up there, Morticia. One of those deals where you have to accept the hazards and know your limits if you want to go there. It's not a place where you could make it a smooth trail

I wish I could take some of these boulders home and they will look 'majestic' on my backyard with water running through 'em ..haha
