I managed to lose a little weight in August despite eating out 14 times (we cut out the last 3 planned meals due to the recent surge in COVID cases) during Houston Restaurant Weeks (multicourse meals that usually included dessert), and I'm very proud of myself. Part of my journey has been about learning how to eat the foods I love in moderation, and how to cut back on my other meals on a day when I want to splurge. It's working!

On days I'm going to be dining out, I only eat two meals a day, saving most of my calories for my dinner meal. I also usually only eat about half or two thirds of my dinner, bringing the rest home for the next day.

Hello Shirfleur! Just found your posts and are fascinated by your will and spunk. I just turned 70 in August and feel that hubby and I are living our best lives. We love eating out too and I’m having to get creative with what I eat daily. I find your method very interesting & informative.

Hi deb, you're doing very well also. I love to dine out with friends without having to restrict my meal choices, so I've found a way to do that. Eating mindfully and savoring each bite pays off for me by allowing me to be satisfied with less. And there's the added bonus of being able to enjoy some of the same food the next day.
