hello all, hope you're doing well today and showing yourself kindness. i'm having a rough time mentally, i had lost 10 lbs and after a hard-hitting depressive episode i'm right back at my starting weight. i've kicked back into dieting and exercise, but i still feel pretty down- just have to remember better days will always come eventually :)

You are getting back on track, so better days ARE ahead! Hope you get the anti-depressive effects of exercise to help with the depression. I take a few moments during or after exercise to breathe deeply and remind myself to feel grateful and happy about what I’m able to do. It helps a lot with mood and motivation.

Kindness, particularly towards yourself is so key. Weight loss isn't the be all and end all. Quality of life and good health is. That being said, as a person that battled chronic depression for 8 years, with the help of SSRIs and cognitive behaviour therapy I've learned how to manage non beneficial thoughts better so no more SSRIs. As I'm wandering through this journey to improving the quality of my life, the change to whole foods, no sugar, no fast, no prefabricated food has also changed my emotional state for the better. May you have success at keeping the depression beast at bay and towards gaining mental and physical wellness!

I stand beside you. We all do. You are not alone. Depression is really hard. The fact that you are exercising is something to celebrate. The fact that you have seen success in losing weight is huge. You have us, your FS circle of support. I’m proud of you for being vulnerable and sharing how you are feeling. There are many of us who are currently going through the same feelings or have gone through depression in the past. Your post was brave and opened the much needed space to have honest conversation about our feelings. I’m sending you compassion and reassurance that you are not alone. ❤️🙏🏼

I hit a snag in “life”earlier this year and I was devastated. I remembered I’ve been through this before. It was extremely difficult. There is no answer to this….there is encouragement! “Remember you are STILL worthy!” …and guess what you just made the 1st step “you’re honest!”…keep up the great job!

I've been there. Gained some back several times but now smaller than I've been in years. You can do it!
