Could use advice and/or encouragement. I've upped my exercise level... but it often leaves me feeling wrung out for the rest of the day. It's not like I've upped it to an insane level and am spending hours each day in the gym -- moderate strength training 3x/week at home for about an hour each workout, trying to walk nearly every day (preferably 3+ miles at 3 MPH), and and just started yoga a couple of times a week.

Please tell me the feelings of fatigue dissipate after I adjust to this. I'm fortunate that I'm retired, so I CAN be lazy the rest of the day, but there are other things I'd like to accomplish.

It doesn't help that my sleep is screwed up again.

Holding steady but not really losing at the moment, but I think I may have an NSV -- when I looked in the mirror the other day, I could swear my legs look thinner. I'll take it.

Couple of thoughts. Have you had labs done anytime recently. Perhaps you are low in iron/ferritin or B12. I give myself a 1 mg injection once a week of B12 amongs other supplements i take. How is your vitamin d and k doing? Do you need fish oil and so on. And of course dehydration can give a myriad of symptoms including nausea.

Writingwyo— if you are old enough to go through menopause then sadly your body has already put you into that aging category— it STILL hasn’t accepted our idea that 50 is the new 30. There are hormonal changes that take place that are a game changer for many of our biological functions… one last thing about hydration—- for those who have had colonoscopies, when they have you drinking that large amount of fluid, it is not plain water— it is USUALLY GATORADE or some other sports type drink that has a small amount of electrolytes in it. Water goes in, comes out and flushes your electrolytes out with it.

Interesting discussion! I thought we'd be talking about appropriate ramping up of activity levels, and I got a medical exam 🤣 All kidding aside, I appreciate the concern, but I'm fine on the medical front. I get a full blood panel drawn twice a year, and all that people have mentioned are perfectly in range. Drink fluids all day out of habit, so pretty naturally get enough there. Other than a well-managed mental health issue and no thyroid (cancer 15 years ago), I'm so healthy my doctor says I'm boring. I think the folks who said I might want to scale back and ramp up more slowly have it pegged. I have a tendency to be impatient with myself. Thank you all 😊

I use a sleep tracker. Less deep sleep means fatigue the following day. Deep sleep regulates hormones and repair.

Mike -- is this something you wear, or is it some kind of journal you record in? And how does tracking help you actually improve your sleep, not just monitor it? I've been taking some active steps to try to improve mine, but it's hit or miss on effectiveness.

honeebuns -- it wasn't too far off the rails 😊 There is such a thing as fatigue from dehydration. Just don't think that's a problem for me. It's only mid-morning here, and I've had four 14 oz mugs of tea and coffee, and am steeping some decaf green tea for my fifth one. I think I'm good 🤣

I drink a lot too but am very active and it's hard to keep up when it's hot.
