Windy Day Günlüğü, 04 Ağu 24

Good Sunday morning peepers. Another sunny day and I need to be heeding the call of the weeds today as there are yet another 10 days of rain/storms in the forecast. Tropical storm remnants will be blowing thru Im sure.

So I was not impressed with the New Moon fast results. At all. Scale didnt budge. And I stayed with it. So, for me, I think the best time for a 24 hr fast is at the Full Moon as a water weight detox. I will do one more to compare with the loss I had last Full Moon and go from there. But honestly, I think at this point I just need to focus on continuing with my 5/2 Mediterranean style diet and working out more consistently. Apparently my body rebels when feeling threatened with no food. Grrr!

I think the only reason I dropped the .1 of a pound is becuz I did 2 24hr fasts in the same week. Going to test my theory out this week n see if it works.

Windy, if I'm understanding the details of your fast, you basically skipped 2 meals....breakfast & lunch. You also may have eaten a few more calories before & after to prevent hunger. So it's kind of a wash. Any wright you may lose is water weight. In my opinion (take it for what it's worth), consistently eating at a deficit is going to give you the results you want. I think an overall weekly deficit is what you should aim for. I actually lost the final 8-10 lbs. after achieving goal & moving into maintenance. When I joined the Gym & added weight training to my routine, my weight continued to decrease a bit over time. Prior to that, my exercise mostly consisted of daily walking & some basic yoga/ stretching exercises. I'll bet if you just focus on being healthy, you can achieve your final goal 😊

Oh no, that is super frustrating. I feel the only reason I lost more is because I have more weight to lose than both you & Erin. Perhaps you both need to do the opposite to trick your body by adding more carbs/calories for a day or two if fasting didn’t work. Just a thought

Bummer! I feel like my body is a slow turtle that takes a long time to adjust. One little change and it takes weeks to adjust. I just get everything going well and hit a bump, then have to start all over. So frustrating! I'm sure the next one will be better!! 🌺

Sorry for such a delay in replying, its been quite a day here. Anyway, Sherry I think you are right. I was just going by 24 hrs no food, thinking dinner to dinner meal seemed to be pretty much the same thing as breakfast to breakfast (?) idk, but I do see your point. I have come to the conclusion also that I think I may be taking in too few calories at this stage and my body is rebelling. Im going to focus on the 5/2 IF and adding in some healthy calories and working out more consistently. I think you are right, Sherry, slow and steady. 😊 I think so too Morticia. 😊

I think that is possibly key Val. Too few calories will make the body go into *starvation mode*. And my metabolism isnt exactly on fire, LOL

Wifemama, that made me laugh! I feel the same. Sluggish metabolism and Im constantly having to change things up to try and outsmart my system. Very frustrating!
