Many find that weighing every day is helpful, others find it can be discouraging because of fluctuations in their weight, even when they are "being good." Others find a happy medium in weighing daily, but only recording it weekly -- that way they have a chance to address any "off course" ventures, but their overall progress is not affected so much. Good luck in finding what works best for you!!

Weigh every morning and watch the weekly averages or a moving 7 day average. Watch the trend lines, not the individual points. Taking a while in between weighing, puts even more emphasis on individual points, which is the opposite of what you want.

I weigh daily but only post it when I see a consistently lower number for several days in a row

I'm with HCB....weigh daily and record losses. If the gain sticks for two weeks, then I enter the higher number...it helps me keep myself in check.

I know there are several theories about how frequently you should weigh yourself and personally my weight can fluctuate a great deal that is why I used to weigh myself once a week at most. I just thought I might try this to see if it has a different affect on how it motivates me to stay on course. Lately I have been in a real battle to stay with it. I have a weight doctor who probably made an excellent observation. She told me I am now in my comfort zone. Every time I gain weight I work like I am obsessed to lose the weight. I lose the weight to the point where I am about 10 lbs overweight for where I should be according to the guidelines. This has become my "comfort zone." Once I get to that weight I relax and lose my motivation - I just want to see if this will help.

You have done well and yes, I understand about the comfort zone...it happens to me as well...I think the gym keeps me motivated. It is really hard though, isn't it? To stay motivated....

I have to weigh myself EVERYDAY. But it works for me. I either stay motivated or it makes me frustrated and work harder. But like some say that it is better to do it only once a week. That just don't work for me. So in the end it's what works best for YOU!

I do it once a week because I get flustered not seeing results daily, but its just a personal thing, As individuals we all have things that work for us and not anyone else, I would do what works for you and wouldn't let it get labeled as right or wrong.
