Hi SP Got to ring the Hospital Clinic on Thursday morning to book an appointment with the surgeon again so all depends when they can fit me in, just hope the bloody ulcers haven't returned or they may have to delay the Op.....I've always had Rescue Doggies and so far I've lost 2 dogs to old age, my last one to depart was Lucky who lived till she was 16 YRS Bless Her , these 2 that I have now are 11 !/2 YRS and 7 YRS OLD but I still miss the others daily I often shed a little tear now again just as you do!!.....Will keep my fingers crossed, I hate waiting its the worst part.....BFN M x 

Maggie. Just remember that exercise, though great for you in its own right, does very little to help you lose weight. A 180 lb person only burns 100 calories per mile walked. 

We have three dogs, all quite young but sizeable (biggest is 45 kilos plus), so unlikely to live very long lives. We've always had (and still have) cats. I know what you mean about remembering all of them. There's one in particular I miss. Anyway, hope everything goes OK. 

Is that all , I always thought it was a lot more, but there you go always ask a man who knows, thanks Jocko.....How much do you burn on an exercise bike? I try to do 20 to 30 mins per day? 

A 30 minute workout can burn as much as 300 calories, depending on intensity. 

SP the one dog that sticks in my mind the most was our Border Collie Bob, he could do so many tricks and was really clever, I'm sure that when I spoke to him he understood everything , I always said that he was a Humanoid .....Happy Times to Cherish Forever  

Hope your scan results are good and so sorry your dog Pepper is unwell. I've always had rescue dogs, normally the older ladies and gents as home was always quiet with no kids about - perfect retirement for them but they all came with a variety of ailments. One used to have weekly hydrotherapy which really helped with his walking as it built up his muscles - until he realised he could just float in his flotation jacket that is, after that we had to put the jets on for him to swim against. Can be a bit pricey but luckily the insurance paid for it. As for your weight, I think you've done well, you may not have lost any but you haven't gained either.  

Hope your scan results are all ok. Sorry to hear about your doggie's bad legs. I am sure that your weight will slowly start to come down. I still have not received the message from you in my inbox. Hope you get your new hard drive soon. Lily xx

Hi Lily, Tez is doing the laptop on Friday morning I'm still having probs with it, whilst I'm here on FS the silly thing keeps switching itself off and then when I reboot it I've lost what I've already typed, its so frustrating, it won't let me send private messages at all I've tried twice again today, so I will have to do it over the weekend Flower, I'm so Lucky to have done what I have today message wise (between the glitches) hope the hard drive is here tomorrow before I pull my hair out!!!.....Mrs M., has your Hubby had his results back or is he waiting like me?.....KP2605, Glad to here that you have Rescue doggies, there are so many that need Homes right now, Roxxy my latest dog we've had for just over a year now and she's slotted in really well, she was a little bit airy fairy when we first introduced her to Pepper, but they soon sorted out their Pecking Order..... We have three now, Tess, Jack and Archie. Tess was our first and we're her 4th home - we were told she is aggressive!!! Never seen any sign of aggression although she can certainly hold her own with her brothers and is quite vocal so I think it's more she was only ever walked on her lead and she needs a good run each day. We were approved to have Archie and while we were waiting we were asked to foster Jack as an emergency as he was being taken from his owners due to neglect and was a very nervous boy. We are useless fosterers and within a few days we asked if we could adopt him as to move him on again when he was such an emotional wreck just wasn't going to work. Archie is just a character. A Romanian street dog saved from the kill centre and once he figured out he was allowed in the house and was given food settled in within hours and was playing with the other two and spends each evening on my husbands lap. We used to live in Halifax and I used to take all three to a secure field for a good run each day to burn off their excess energy but we emigrated to central Portugal in October and have a lot more land now so, although they have a daily walk around the lanes on their leads they have plenty of room for chasing and rough and tumble. They have their moments but then, don't we all but generally they are a happy, if a little spoiled bunch of pups. x 

Your dogs sound like a really lovely bunch of pooches to me, they all have their own individual quirky little ways cos that's what makes us love them so......A good few years ago I was asked like you to foster dogs from our local rescue centre College Garth Nr Loughborough (where Pepper came from) but I knew if I did that I wouldn't be able to give them up when suitable parents were found for them 

Exactly the same for me. I think I get far more out of having them in my life than they do having me and John but once they're part of the pack that's it, no going back through thick or thin xx 

Just going to give Pepper his meds followed by a gentle massage on his back legs and then I'm going to finish off with a light brushing..... Guess who rules the roost here in my house..... I'm putting my order in now for the next life cos I'm definitely coming back as a Dog!!!.....BFN M x
