Hi. I’m Carol; I found this app on the Apple store and am using in conjunction with Diabetes:M (it has a really poor food management system)

After being overweight since I was about 11, when I severely injured my back, weight control has been a struggle. What I didn’t know in my teens and twenties was that I had insulin resistance and a wonky (slow) thyroid.

In 1988 I was treated by Dr. Atkins in NYC (yes, THAT Dr. Atkins!) In 4 months I went from a size 18 to a slim size 10-and was spending $200/WEEK on vitamin supplements and STILL losing my hair. This was the old, strict Atkins diet - unlimited meat, poultry, fish, and fat, plus 4 cups of plain salad greens a day. Plus a gym 3/wk.

When I wheedled to add some veggies - I stopped losing weight.
