I have a GREAT run today and felt strong. I LOVE running first thing in the morning but I am worried that as my vacation is ending, I am not going to be able to run in the mornings anymore. Feels great to get it out of the way first thing in the morning so that no matter what pops up in my day, there are barriers that prevent me from getting my run in. But this this still time change that has is so dark and cold in the morning, I would be running in the pitch black to get home in time to shower/dress and be out the door by 7am. We’ll see. I think for the first week, I am going to try to hit the street at 5:30am so I can be home by 6:30am and shower and eat and off to work by 7am. Could be a tight fit but it is only 2 times during the work week, and then I can have a beautiful 8am run on the weekend with the warmth of the sun and the light to enjoy the mountains, the blue sky, and the beautiful homes, and architecture in my neighborhood.

Today was a fight. It took me a mile and a half of struggling before I finally found my rhythm. Then I was jogging like I was on the clouds in the sky.

I read a post today from a friend who is upset with herself for not keeping up with her running and gaining 20 pounds. She is well ahead of me in a new healthy lifestyle change and has lost weight due to the healthy eating and exercising. I worry about this same situation in my future. I love my new healthy lifestyle, but I do have to FORCE myself to get out there and run at least 3 times a week, and on days I don’t run it is really difficult to stay under my RDI. During Thanksgiving week, I gained 11 pounds, and it was disheartening to re-lose the same 11 pounds I had already lost.
Does anyone out there have advice of how to keep it going when the trill of the weight loss dies down or when you reach your goal weight and you are on the maintain plan and see years of hard workouts ahead of you without the trill of losing weight and chasing a goal?
