When I started this journey back in the fall of 2021 -- befor re-discovering Fatsecret I was nearly 260. I joined Noom for a while but didn't like how difficult it was to enter intake. but I was able to lose some weight. I began a weight training program modeled after The Barbell Prescription by Jon Sullivan, which I highly recommend as well as his UTube channel Grey Steel -- geared towards the over 40 year old crowd. Which I more than qualify for. I began the weight training program in April of 2022 and also at the same time rediscovered Fatsecret, I have been very dilligent about keeping up with my weight training and untill the past month or six weeks also equally consistant about recording what I eat. I don't konw exactly why I think I can lose weight, get to my under 200 goal without recording everthing that I take in. I'm using this journal entry to recommit to the recording. I know from my past experience, a long history of up and down on the weight graph, that recording what I eat has been an important component of my weight loss in the past. So like so much of being human. I'm beginning again -- and if past history is any guide this will not be the last time I begin again. Maybe what I need to do is set myself a goal date to get down to 199 but for now the goal is to record the next bunch of calories I take in, and the next, and the next, and the next . . .

The idea that I could keep the weight going down and not record what I'm eating is blown up after three weeks. Granted weight can fluctute but if I haven't tracked, and I haven't for the past three weeks I can't use the data of calories in plus activity/exercise to get an idea as to whether I'm experiencein just one of those random weight fluctuations or true weight loss or gain -- so going up 3.5 pounds in two weeks -- it is back to tracking. One thing I'm very happy with myself regarding is my training routine. I had Covid in mid September and as soon as I got over that I got a cold that was worse than the Covid and it brought me to a day and a moment where I had one of those pivot points. I had put off going to the gym to do my Barbell Prescription mondified Starting Strength strength training session and if I hadn't gone last Thursday, which I did, it could have been -- I don't know how long before I went back. I made it to the gym and was back again yesterday and feel like I'm back in the habit. Other than the illnesses I have been very consistanct since I started my program in April. I had coach until September who was great and I learned alot from but the expence and the inflexibility -- had to be during the day on week days I wanted to move away from and see if I can do it on my own. I'm pretty sure that answer is YES I CAN!
