I managed the road trip without any damage. It was hard to find things to eat that don't have carbs! But I did it. I ended up Wednesday night at In-N-Out getting a protein style burger. I've never been a fast food junkie, but I was too tired to go sit in a restaurant by myself that night. I drove 504 miles in 3 days, stayed in Hampton Inns that had really loud A/C and windows that wouldn't open, so I'm feeling pretty exhausted today. Plus, I ran into big problems with state funding for my dropout recovery program, big stress there.
All-in-all, though, I have a great life and I am very happy. I met some women at a wine-tasting last night who told me that they didn't want me to sit at their table when I came in because I was this tall, statuesque slim woman who probably would be full of herself. Hah! Me? Statuesque??? I wish I could see myself through someone else's eyes, I don't see myself like that at all. And now I have 2 new friends. Oh, make that 3, I met another FS friend yesterday too! Wonderful people in my life, I am so blessed.

Glad to hear that you did well with the eating on your trip. Bummer about the job, though. Making other women jealous because of how great you look... priceless. :) Want to go hiking tomorrow?

I'd love to go hiking! My daughter is back from college, she wants to go but I doubt she will be up when we want to go. Meet at the parking lot at 9? Oh, here's something else, I have been using hiking poles, wow what a difference they make. I don't worry about falling or going down steep hills, they really help me.

Sports Authority or REI...I got mine at Costco last year, but they don't have them now.
