Sigh, I keep losing and gaining the same 8 lbs. I cut calories and have been staying in my macros. I have been staying under on my carbs. I just don't get why I don't lose weight. My Husband is worried that I am not eating enough. I certainly didn't lose weight before Keto. I'll keep moving on. Maybe something will happen.

I had to back off on dairy. Hard to do but it made me totally stall.

Did you try intermittent fasting?

Seconding Pattychin-Dutcher. I'll have small amount of cheese every other week or so, am less and less interested. Same with nuts. Onion, just 5-10g shaved for color and flavor, and cherry tomato just for color if at all. --- Do you need to weigh yourself often? It seems like you're eating extremely well, and making progress with measurements. How are you feeling? --- My partner has hit a few frustrating plateaus, but says they'd rather be heavy and feeling as good as they do, than at goal weight and feeling like they used to. One downside of FS is that so many posts are SO weight focused, and so many members measure progress based on that.

Why is the weight to macros off on this app?

keep at it... you will see progress soon

I started to hit a plateau and gain back the weight even though I was eating about 20 grams of carbs a day using small portions. I had to do the last thing I wanted to do: drink over 64oz a day. I can't stand drinking that much water. It worked. My colon emptied and my water weight came off. I have steadily made progress. If you aren't already, try it. The 8 lbs could be water weight... 8 lbs isn't that abnormal for water weight. Good luck! I am rooting for you in your journey of health and fitness.

what's your Excercise program Like? Alternating weight training to cardio 3 days a week really helped me break my plateu at -20 pounds. Also Pilates is a great choice!

@ChefMartin, take a look at Bluper's profile. Not everyone is able to exercise much, or buy the foods they need and like, or get specific technique training like Pilates, or do other things that some of us (at least partially) take for granted. I have immense admiration for Bluper's program so far.

Thank you all. I can't do much exercise at this time. I'm too big and my fake knees don't work well enough to walk much. I read so much conflicting info about Keto

You should try working out in the pool. That might help. :)

I would love to work out in a pool. The only one in this ?#!? Town, closed due to cracks in the plaster. The city council says it will take 7million to fix it so it is not going to happen.

I can't back off on dairy, the Keto diet is based on meat, dairy and low carb veggies.

Bluper, keto isn't for everyone, and for some people it's the right choice for a season but not forever. It might be worth finding some version of it for a short term, though, to get you some relief from water weight? -- My partner started out well heavier than your profile lists (maybe similar BMIs if you are very short) and with severe health problems, restricted mobility. They didn't even try to exercise for the first 6-9 months, then started very low, slow and short on a recumbent stationary bike. -- You haven't asked for input about what or how much you're eating, but based on my partner's success, I'm guessing that your calorie limits right now might be significantly too low for the first stage. And that it might be too early to start exercising? Other than mild calesthenics that you can do in a chair, maybe. -- Sorry this all sounds so counter to what's commonly recommended; I've just seen it work very well for someone I care about a lot.

The macro calculator on FS says I should be eating 2000 cal. Per day. I tried that for a couple of months and had no luck. It was suggested I reduce my cal. So I'm trying that now. As I said, so much controversy. I've tried more protein and less also. I am maintaining since my water weight loss. I'm stumbled. I have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high A1C. I must, must, must loose weight. All suggestions are welcome and wanted. Thank you all.

I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes back in April. my doctor was little to no help, but gave me several months to get my numbers under control. after reading everything I could on the internet, I determined that the best way to beat it was the keto diet. I stay around 1200 calories and under 30g carbs. I have lost 25 pounds. I don't exercise much. walking occasionally. my numbers get tested on Monday and I am hoping for good news. my point is, this is doable. my husband is not on my diet, so I have had to be creative at times. Pinterest is helpful for recipes. keep going, you can do this.

PugSnuggler, see my issue, you lost 25lb. That's awesome. I am doing less than 30g of carbs and between 1000 and 1300 cal. Still the scale won't move. I find all my recipes on Pintrest. Most of them are good.

Don't drink another drop. You can actually get water toxicity from too much water. Oh dear, my friend what are we going to do to help you?

Bluper, I have no answers for you. Weight loss, regardless of method, is eating less calories than you burn. I will say that I have added several supplements to my diet. But, I am D deficient, which often goes along with Diabetes. So I take a Calcium supplement, D3, and K2 to counter. I also take Fish Oil, a B complex, C, and zinc. Many of these help your body metabolize fat. I also throw in Coconut oil which also helps. I am not a snacker, but when I do it is usually a hand full of nuts. But, I do know a few snackers and they often consume a great deal more calories than they realize. All I would say to you is do not get disheartened and keep going. Sooner or later your plateau will fall away. And the way you are eating right now is healthy regardless.
