I have a new strategy... don't keep track of calories. I found that if I had a couple hundred extra calories available at the end of the day that I would eat something else, even if I wasn't hungry. Now I watch my portion sizes instead, totally avoid cookies and chips etc. any food I know that trips the compulsive snacking switch .... and before I reach for something I ask myself if I'm actually hungry or is it just my natural compulsion to eat. I drink a lot more water to keep hydrated, fill me up a bit when I'm craving. From keeping calorie counts previously I have a pretty good sense of what foods I can or can't eat anyway, so fingers crossed this new method keeps me on track. I wish I was a big fruit and veggie fan, but I'm not so I won't say my diet is a particularly healthful one, but I do what I can. Any weight loss will improve my fight with arthritis and Fibromyalsia.
