On September 7, 2011, I joined a weight management program. This was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done for many reasons: 1) It forced me to acknowledge the fact that I truly am overweight; 2) Share my struggles of being overwight with others who may or may not have experienced the same struggle and 3) Terminate my long term relationship with my best friend/confidant/companion. This is a pretty scary thing for me and, to be truthful, I am not sure how successful I will be when everything is said and done. I know how I want my future to look like and that does not include squeezing myself into spanx every morning when getting dressed for work, having to take a break when I walk up a flight of stairs, not being able to play with my nephew or godchildren for longer than 15 minutes because I will break out in a sweat... I can go on and on and on. Having said all of that, I know that change is hard and uncomfortable and I will probably curse and moan all the way through this program, but just for today, I plan on doing something different to change my life for the long term. Here's to new beginnings! I

I too recently had to come to terms that I fitted into the "obese" category and have also started a weight management program. The best advice I could ever give anyone is to think positive. You can do this! Here's to us both becoming our ideal selves.
