This morning I finally transitioned from obese to overweight. :-) I am at about 50% of my weight loss. I am focused on getting to the end point. I have been heavy just about my entire life, and I want to break the cycle. This site has helped so much on portion control, I now realize that I would eat 1000+ calories on a small (for me) snack before, and that on some days I would eat 4500 to 5000 calories (and not think twice about it).
My waist is now below 40 inches, even the small clothes I have in my closet from so long ago are too big for me. I am so focused on my goal. Losing weight is far from easy; I find that it is a struggle every waking minute. Thanks to this site, I can see very clearly when I am doing myself harm in eating. My mistakes have been very few, and when I make a mistake the first thing I do is get back on course the next meal.
The other day in a health magazine I read that the average man thought of sex 29 times a day. I can tell you from my current path that I easily think of food at least 290 times a day. It is always on my mind. I am hoping that as time goes on that the thoughts of food and eating become much reduced from current levels. I hear that it takes a long time for one to completely change the way they think about food, I am ready for that event to occur.
To you reaching your goals I congratulate you! To you who are not happy with your progress I encourage you to refocus on the goal. This tool has helped me measure my progress, and that has been so encouraging. Every day every week that passes builds confidence that it is possible to lose weight.
