Finally managed to drink my coffee/cream/coconut oil and test my BG every 30 minutes after. The results:
9:40 BG 73
drank coffee w/1 Tblsp cream & 1 tsp coconut oil
10:10 BG 66
10:40 BG 67
11:17 BG 63
11:50 BG 58 (my stomach growled)
12:20 BG 58
I've read that coffee raises BG in some people, but my coffee combo seems to work for me. Thank goodness! Except for special occasions, I've given up sugar, bread, flour, processed foods . . . I was really hoping I could keep coffee in the mix!

I really love my new Sidekick Morning Journal! This morning I woke at 5:00, a full hour before my alarm went off, and I just plain felt good, like I was ready to get up and get started. Motivated. I'm checking off my morning routine items and am way ahead. Heading out to take a walk in a minute (6:15). I love these cool mornings, birds singing, a breeze ruffling the leaves in the trees. I took the cat out in the back yard about 20 minutes ago. It was dark as night, but she didn't seem to mind, and, truly, neither did I. So peaceful.
I've been trying to track my blood glucose reaction to various foods, but I sometimes forget to test 30, 60, or 90 minutes after I eat.Think I'll need to set a timer.

Hard to believe I feel this way, but I'm glad it's Monday. Although I did get a lot done this weekend (for me), I'm glad to be back in my daily routine. I started using a Morning Sidekick Journal last week, and my morning routine is easier to follow on week days.
