FINALLY! The scale moved - just a smidgen - but I will take it! Had a great weekend with lots of success. My first personal challenge for October (a dinner banquet) was hugely successful. Challenges #2 and #3 happen this weekend with a family wedding on Friday and an all day workshop on Saturday where food is provided leaving me with little choices. The wedding is a "once in a lifetime thing" so I will enjoy myself but will make very good choices when it comes to food and drink and I will be out on that dance floor burning as many calories as possible. Saturday, I will pack a small salad for lunch and some fruit for snacks and plenty of water. It is all about planning ahead. My personal challenge this week is to weigh and measure more of my foods. I also want to take my measurements because while the scale has not moved in several weeks, my clothes fit differently.

I almost forgot - I did it too. I signed up for swim lessons. They start on November 2nd and go for 8 weeks. I am also trying to find a Zumba class or some other class following the swim lessons but so far everything at my gym is held during the week and during the day when most people are at work?!?

YIPPEE!!! I love the scale victory. I prayed for that. I know you have a great attitude and committed but I just wanted this to happen!!! Now, be nice to your scale and don't threaten it!!! Tehe~ Listen to your exercise plans. You go girl. Planning and thinking ahead is what makes it happen!!! Proud of you. Love the quote and who is getting married?

Yippie....great to hear. I am hoping for the same and hopefully in the right direction. My biggest issue is what you were saying about social events. I need to be stronger.

MWeil - I have said for years that "life happens" and we cannot use social events as an excuse anymore. I was famous for I will start a diet after "fill in the blank" - holidays, birthday, vacation, second Tuesday of next week. But the truth is that we all have these events every week, month, every year! We need to do our best and on those truly special events splurge a bit but own it. Whether we taste it, bite it, lick it or eat it, we have to own it! Don't get me wrong, I am NOT preaching, this is just how I get through these events because they really pile up. And truthfully, for me anyway, banquet or buffet food is just not worth it. Good luck in your social events, believe in your success and it will find you. By the way, the high heels really worked. By the time I walked through the parking lot, socialized and mingled, my feet hurt and I had no desire to go to the dessert table the bar or the food table again. Take care - of you!

if you plan for success you will succeed. If you plan for failure, you will fail. Excellent quote. One to remember. Thanks. We all had a plan date and it usually followed a special outing/occasion or Monday. I can't remember the day I started my original journey, but do remember I started FS on a Friday. I think we get to the point, "it's time" no matter the day is. It just feels right and we're ready. Best of luck with your swim classes.
