I just started a low carb diet. I'm not sure what I'm doing too much. I just have stayed away from rice, bread, pasta and chips. I even read beans are really high in carbs. So I haven't been eating beans either. I did notice when eating low carb the fats and proteins are higher. i just dont know what is too much fat? which diet i should be following etc. I've been eating full fat everything. I read somewhere to to eat no more than 100 g of carbs. So i've been sticking to that for the past two weeks. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Or just have pointers. I did lose 1.6 lbs..yay..anything is better than nothing. Thanks

Healthy fats are one of the keys to this way of eating. As far as "how much" - I use a ratio of 65% of my calories from FAT, 25% of my calories from PROTEIN and 10% (or less) from CARBS. The easiest way? Read the Nutrition Facts labels on your foods and if the FAT is twice as much (gram-wise) than your PROTEIN for the food you're eating... you're usually good to go. Of course, drinking clear liquids (preferably water) and limiting your CARBS (under 40 g usually) are the other keys.

Nuts and olive oil with ur salad or meals can be a good idea to consume good fats and also adding more cheese to ur diet.(feta is my fave actually)

thank you both. I need all the help I can get. I'm new to low carb. I did do a low calorie for a bit.
