You have got to be kidding me!! INSOMNIA!!! Geez, the night I am so tired I can't even go to sleep. Miserable!! Miserable! Miserable! No hot tea, heartburn prone. No hot milk..high in carbs..just miserable. I know I am still overstimulated from the last two days. I have been busy as a bee. Now, I want some rest..UGH@@

I feel your pain! Have you ever tried Magnesium supplements? When I holiday in the US I buy Natural Calm but as I live in NZ I buy Floradix magnesium supplement or a tablet form. It works a treat, helps the muscles relax and sends you off to sleep. Don't beat yourself up, chin up, tomorrow is another day, wipe the slate clean :-)

I seem to have the opposite problem ... I woke up at 4 AM WIDE AWAKE... Its bad enough that I have to get up for work at 5 anyway. So here I am watching the news and checking my online stuff . Hope you ended up getting some sleep ! Heres to another great day for us all : )

I know it sounds like a platitude, but stressing out about not being able to sleep will only make you sleep less. try some breathing exercises, or perhaps get hubby to give you a massage, think calming thoughts. There's a great Pink Floyd clip which is the intro to one of their albums which starts really softly and the sound of gentle paddling, the clip shows someone gently rowing down a river, so when I can't sleep I try visualising that - it usually works before my muscles start hurting from rowing :) Good luck, hope you sleep tonight. PS the album is called A Momentary Lapse of Reason and the clip is shown o one of their Live concert DVD's I think called A delicate sound of thunder

Thanks all. I did get some sleep :-). I don't know when it happened but it did. Thinking around 3am. Just waking up and feel ready to start my day. :-) Have a wonderful day and thank you all for the wonderful suggestions. I will be ready for the next time this happens. :-)

I have this same problem - and it seems that I have been getting Restless Leg Syndrome every single night. It's around 1AM that I fall asleep then WHAM 3AM every single night I wake up and that's it until around 5:30AM...finally get back to sleep around 6, then have to get up by 7:00AM I'm telling you - I'm exhausted almost every single day and get really irritable at my poor little hubby, lol. (He's a great guy and ignores me knowing I'm acting like a jerk because I'm practically walking in my sleep (in the daytime). I can't take a nap during the day - I've tried it, because then I REALLY can't sleep at night. Oh well, it could be worse.
