Ordered pastries/coffee for a meeting this morning. Usually, I'd be thinking, "What an awful time to try to start eating right! All of this delicious, carb-heavy food, and I can't have any!" I only started back to LCHF yesterday, so I haven't invested much time yet. However, I know that deadly carbs (to differentiate from healthy carbs) will always be around, so I may as well get used to living in their presence. I thought about waiting until January to start eating right (Thanksgiving and Christmas!), but I feel so awful all the time, I just couldn't wait. No matter when or where I am, there will be temptation.
I don't feel tempted this morning. Yes, the pastries are here for the taking, but it's not like I can't ever have pastries. I just need to get back to LCHF and then I can have the occasional treat. But not today. My stomach felt empty and queasy a little while ago, so I ate part of my lunch as part of breakfast and feel better now. And I'm drinking coffee with cream; that's always a treat:-)

Imagine my shock, but I am really loving my morning cup of coffee with butter! I've always used cream or half and half before, but the butter does give it a wonderful flavor. Today I also added some MCT oil. We'll see if that gives me the extra energy it's purported to give. Feeling pretty good in general: better sleep, better energy, better mood. I'm using Chart Myself to track a variety of hacks/symptoms to see how I can improve my health.
