As I prepare my mind and body to begin a new diet and excersize regimen, I am feeling so awesome and so fearful at the same time. I need to do this for myself, my children and my husband. But I fear I have a real addiction to food and by embarking on this journey, I will be forced to confront this addiction. Lucky for me, I am willing to do whatever it takes for me to be comfortable in my own skin, my kids not to be embarressed of me and my husband to continue to love me for me. I am truly blessed.

Congratulations on embarking on this new adventure/journey. Hello,I'm nonna and I'm a carboholic..Congrats on starting your new journey.You can do this.You state you are on the Atkins plan.The first few days are the hardest but you will survive.Drink some full salt broth or have an avocado for the atkins flu.Stick to the plan,read,read and read some more to understand the program completely.You have made a good choice to change your lifestyle,for you and your family.Getting you healthy will help you beat your addiction.You might want to check out the forums on the atkins site, if you haven't already.Lots of support there also. Welcome, you will find just as I have, what a wonderful support system this site offers. You get to discuss your concerns/issues with other people that had the same problems. You are taking the first steps to making good choices about the type of life you want. You will be amazed at how a few pounds of weight loss will affect your self esteem, your motivation and determination to continue on track. There are many tools available on this site, I use the food journal and it calculates carbs, protein, calories for each meal and snack.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I have been browsing and becoming familiar with the site the past few days and feel I am ready to do this. I appreciate your support and the tips provided. I know I will use them!!!

Welcome to the site! You are among friends, as we all struggle in one way or another with food addiction. It is why this site is so helpful. My wise counsel for you is to read, read, read....understand the science behind Atkins, as it will really help. Blessings!
